Introduction:

Several outlying islands in Hong Kong have been honored as UNESCO Global Geopark. However, the transportations to these islands are comparably inconvenient, causing people to neglect the treasures brought by nature. On 22 July 2017, we will bring you to Tung Ping Chau where you can see most of the rock types in Hong Kong (e.g. sedimentary rock, dolomitic siltstone). Besides hiking, we will arrange a geology guided tour to introduce the topographic feature (e.g. the formation of sea column) of this crescent-shaped island. Do not hesitate, let’s have a ‘touchable’ and interactive geography lesson together!
